June 2 (Bloomberg) -- Brazos Group Inc., the largest municipal borrower in the $330 billion auction-rate securities market, is stuck with $7 billion of debt it can't refinance, restructure or buy back. A lower interest rate gives you less interest to deduct on your income tax, which may increase your tax payments and decrease your total savings from refinancing.
