My name is the only name on the 1st mtg and HELOC but they want total household info--even if I use my husband's income we still can't afford both homes nor do we ...Any suggestions on how to get Countrywide Home Loans to approve my DIL? Generally, the lower the interest rate, the more points the lending institution will charge....

The federal government recently took control of the home loan banks Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. They were originally created by the government to boost the amount of loans, but eventually both were privatized. When you're on the look out for a new home, you need cash. A lot of it. Most homes today have down payments that are more than what the buyer can afford right then and there. The solution for this? A mortgage....
