Bradford & Bingley is hiking the interest charged on a range of its deals by up to 0.55%, while Abbey is increasing some of its rates by up to 0.26% from Monday.Two of the UK's biggest lenders have announced they are increasing their rates for new customers. The very faceless nature of online mortgages makes them difficult to trust. There is, after all, much sensitive information that you would have to give out when you apply for a mortgage. June 6 (Bloomberg) -- Bradford & Bingley Plc , Britain's largest lender to landlords, increased many of its mortgage rates, citing the rising cost of funding and more competition among lenders. Another thing is that mortgage brokers can be more resourceful than banks. Because mortgage brokers do not work for only one company, they have more access to mortgages and loans. Greater suitability and better mortgage options are what mortgage brokers bring to their customers....

Bad news with the Jobs Report is what’s keeping rates from teetering significantly higher since we’re dealing with record oil prices with the biggest one day gain ever! Inflation is the arch enemy of mortgage backed securities ... Fortunately though, broker's fees, like lender fees, are negotiable. So be prepared to practice you negotiating skills so you can best the best mortgage rate....
