Nationwide Building Society is reducing interest rates on some of its fixed-rate and tracker mortgages this week, with rates on its fixed loans for house buyers falling up to 0.07%. A two-year fix is available from 6.58% with a £599 fee ... The loan itself is made by a bank, a savings and loan association, a mortgage company, a credit union, or any other lender. For it to become an FHA mortgage loan, the lender would have to be approved by the Federal Housing Administration....

Here in the UK it started with interest rates being cut to try and encourage consumer spending and bolster the economy. Almost every edition of lunchtime and evening news headlines on the TV has finance related news these days, the financial markets are plumeting and every month, sometimes every week another bank asks for additional funding. The first casualties of the credit crunch both in the USA and UK is the mortgaged homeowner. Then house prices stalled and are falling, although they’re Online mortgages dispel of this practice as sending information over the Internet can be done much faster and easier. So now, borrowers can stay in the know with the information that is readily available on the Internet....
